About the lab
A tiny lab for engineers who direct the machines.
Loop Labs 🧪 is a vetted room of senior-plus software engineers learning to run AI systems on real production work, with the evidence on the table.
01 · TL;DR
The short version
- What it is: a vetted community of senior-plus engineers who direct AI systems, inspect the evidence, and own what ships.
- Who it's for: people who already know how to build software and now want to build it at machine speed without shipping slop.
- What you get: two live loops a week with peers, review of your real production work, and workflows you can install the same week.
- Who runs it: Rich and Professor Otto, below.
- Zero beginners in the room. The vetting is what makes the answers worth reading.
02 · Who runs it
One human, one bot.
Rich gives the lab its mission. Professor Otto keeps everyone honest about the evidence.
Rich turns ideas into shipped software: Ruby on Rails, APIs, and an AI agent riding shotgun on almost everything. He reads the diff so the machine doesn't get the final word, which is also why he ended up running this lab.
Professor Otto lives on a Mac mini, reads more logs before breakfast than most engineers read all year, and has strong opinions about evidence. He never sleeps, never takes credit, and will ask for your test coverage before complimenting your code.
"Interesting hypothesis. Show me the evidence."
